Updates of the last month...

It has been a crazy month for us. We moved in to our house and love it, however, we are still working on a couple big projects. The A/C is getting put in next week, we are digging trenches this weekend for the sprinkler system, and then will lay sod and put up the fence. Madison is definitely growing, definitely obvious by my growing stomach. Jeff has been able to feel her kicking, however, he has warned her that she will not be allowed to be a soccer player. I told him not to worry if she gets her athletic ability from her Mom she will only be able to dance or do gymnastics. We put together her crib last week and are waiting on a couple pieces of the bedding to be shipped from Pottery Barn Kids. Her room is getting painted this week and when finished we will put up some pictures. Nils is going stir-crazy without a yard, we are taking him on about 4 walks a day. He is excited for this weekend because he will get to go to Grandpa's for a week. Jeff finished school baseball and starts AA Legion this next week. Northwest Baseball Academy camps start soon as well. We are excited for the warm weather we have been teased with last week.

On the move...

We are on the move, and Nils isn't sure what is going on. We are currently packing the POD with everything. We need to be out of the house on Thursday, so it is "go time!" While packing, Nils found some baby items we used in a recent baby shower for a friend. He showed some jealously...and won't share either. FORESHADOWING?

It's a...

GIRL!!!

After wiping off the tears of absolute JOY (her middle name), Jeff and I looked into each other's eyes and couldn't believe how blessed we are to have this little miracle. She was dancing and singing the entire ultrasound. Both of her grandmas were beaming as they began to think of Easter and Christmas dresses and big bows:)

Our initial thoughts:
Jeff: (1) I hope she looks like her mama (2) How much do I need to save for a wedding? (3) Does Nils count as the tying vote? (4) I can't wait to teach her how to cut rug at every Father-Daughter Dance possible!

Karissa: I was so excited to see that she had 2 arms and 2 legs. It was such a miracle to see her face and watch her be so active. Watch out world because we have a little wild girl headed your way!

Nils: I am glad it's a girl. Now I don't have to be so jealous. I will be Madison's protector!

How about that for Spring?

I realize one of the many sacrifices we must make to live in Spokane is the volatile weather, but this is ridiculous. Baseball and hail don't belong in the same paragraph, let alone same breath!

Karissa is living to the old axiom, "April showers bring May flowers." At this point, I am resorting to "April showers bring May doubleheaders!" The good news...the offer on the house pictured in an earlier entry was accepted. We will close simultaneously on both houses on April 24th (then continue w/ the marathon to the Mariners game Friday 4.25 and State History Day in Seattle on 4.26). Many people have inquired as to where the house is located...
